Landon Van Dyke currently serves as the Greening and Sustainable Diplomacy Coordinator at the Department of State – in this capacity, he works to ensure that the Department operates in an environmental sustainable manner.  Working both with U.S. and foreign diplomatic missions, Mr. Van Dyke works with the diplomatic community to promote best practices and to minimize its environmental footprint.

Previously, Mr. Van Dyke served at the White House Council on Environmental Quality as the Associate Director of International Affairs and Climate Change.  In this capacity he was an advisor to the Council Chair and was responsible for environmental and energy policy development as they related to U.S. international relations.

Mr. Van Dyke's is experienced in several policy portfolios including the oversight of U.S. government activities in Asia related to environmental protection, energy security, international trade, finance and climate change.  In addition he served as an advisor for the Major Economies Forum and the Asia-Pacific Partnership for Clean Development and Climate, the U.S.-China Strategic and Economic Dialogue, and an interlocutor for several multilateral activities, including the G8, APEC, ASEAN, IEA, OECD and the WTO. 
 
Mr. Van Dyke holds a bachelor's degree in Anthropology from Central Michigan University, a MBA from the Haworth College of Business at Western Michigan University and a MA in Asian Studies from the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University.  Mr. Van Dyke was previously a Managing Senior Associate at Pacific Bridge, Inc., served as a business Adjunct Professor at Western Michigan University and has worked in China for several years serving as a business consultant and instructor.

The $5.00 discounted price for early registration of $25 for members and active duty military in uniform, $32.50 for non members, and $18 for students, ends at noon Monday, February 7.  Normal prices are $5 more. The event will take place at 11:30 at the Ortiz Center. All reservations must be pre-paid.
